Emergency services, first-responders, broadcasters and rapid deployment teams of all kinds need to establish rock-solid communication links before they set-out and remain in-contact along the way. The Hughes 9350’s Class 10 Antenna is a fully autonomous, all-weather tracking antenna that acquires the nearest INMARSAT communications satellite and stays in contact while your vehicle is in motion. The entire system weighs just 8.3 kg total (18.3 lbs), and can fit in a small piece of luggage or travel-case. The simple, two-piece design includes the transceiver unit, which is the size of a small laptop computer and the Class 10 antenna unit, which has a diameter of 494 mm (19.4 in). This makes the Hughes 9350 with Class 10 Antenna easy to ship or transport when needed. And set-up is simple too: just place the transceiver unit inside your vehicle, connect it to the Class 10 Antenna using the single RF cable included, and set the antenna unit on your vehicle roof. The powerful magnetic mounts will secure the antenna for normal operations: no bolts, no other fasteners are necessary. Connect the transceiver to your vehicle power, turn it on, and the Hughes 9350 will establish a GPS position and acquire an INMARSAT satellite. Provided there is line of sight at the minimum 5° above the horizon, you are ready to go.

With the capabilities of the Hughes 9350 with Class 10 Antenna, you have a mobile command center you can take on the road, and stay in contact on-the-move. The powerful Wi-Fi can support up to 11 simultaneous users in a 30.5 meter range (100 ft.). And with standard IP data speeds of over 400 Kbps, your team can be online and connected using their Wi-Fi enabled devices. And the Hughes 9350 enables you to use data, voice calling and sms functions simultaneously, so multiple lines of communication can be functioning at the same time.

The Hughes 9350 is a weather-resistant, fully-operational BGAN terminal, utilizing the crisis-proven INMARSAT system of global satellites, giving you a range of capabilities to fit your critical communication needs. With an ingress rating of IP56, the Class 10 Antenna can withstand extreme wet-weather, resisting powerful jets of water from every direction, and is protected against particles and dust. It can operate in temperatures of -25°C to 55°C (-13° to 131° F), so you can take it to arctic regions as well as tropical zones. You can make and receive phone calls to and from any PTSN landline or mobile phone on the globe using a standard analog hand-set, or make voice calls using the internet (Voice Over Internet Protocols or VoIP). You can also make direct BGAN to BGAN voice-calls, if the local terrestrial networks are un-reliable, have failed, or you are both beyond the reach of cell-coverage. With 64 Kbps ISDN capabilities, and a choice of dedicated streaming speeds of 32, 64, 128 and 256 Kbps available on-the-move, high-quality audio and video can be transmitted and received with a level of dependability and quality of service that makes the Hughes 9350 with Class 10 Antenna an excellent choice for broadcasters and other professionals who need ultra-reliable connectivity when reporting from the field. (Note: 256 Kbps streaming requires >45° elevation angle over the horizon. For elevation angles less that 45°, 32, 64 and 128 Kbps streaming is recommended for video broadcasting.)
